World Bank Career Seminar

世界銀行にお勤めの小西徹さんをお迎えし、国際キャリアセミナーを行います。
またセミナーの後に、IUCN（国際自然保護連合：スイス）へのインターンシップの説明会を実施します。
（注：インターンシップは自然保護寄附講座履修生を対象としています。）

卒業後、国際的なフィールドで活躍したい方、海外インターンシップに興味のある方、（そうではないけど）ちょっと話を聞いてみたいという方はふるってご参加ください。
多くの方の参加をお待ちしています。
We will have an international career seminar and IUCN internship guidance on Nov. 11, 2021 (Thu) 10:30-.
We welcome all the students who are interested in international career development as well as internship position in the IUCN (Switzerland) (IUCN internship position is available for CPNC students only).

Title: World Water Crisis － what is the nature, how the World Bank is responding, and my engagement

オンサイトでは、大学のガイドラインにもとづいて、検温、消毒、マスク着用等の感染対策を実施します。
定員に達した場合はオンラインに変更をお願いする場合があります。
学生参加者は、健康観察記録票の記入をお願いします。
Before the seminar at onsite, we measure your body temperature, and ask you to wear mask, sterilize your hands, and show us the health observation sheet.
In the case we receive more registrations than the room capacity, we may ask you to change to online.

～小西さんご経歴＆メッセージ～
Dr. Konishi's profile and message:

Dr. Toru KONISHI:
1983. B.S in Civil Engineering (University of Tokyo)
1983-88. Civil Engineer at Shimizu Cooperation
1993. Ph. D in Economics (University of California, San Diego)
1993 - Present  Senior Economist at World Bank (Water Resources)
Worked in East Europe, South Asia and Southeastern Asian countries, engaged in water resources policy dialogues and infrastructure projects.

World is now experiencing the water crisis - and the situation will get worse because of climate change, population growth and rapid urbanization and industrialization. 
While water is essential for all lives, too much water can cause floods and water is easily contaminated.
This lecture summarizes the current situation of water crisis, and the nature of the water as a natural resource, and how the World Bank can help countries respond through multi-disciplinary approach, and at last, I will also present myself as a case study to help participants visualize their potential future careers.

2021年度 筑波大学自然保護寄附講座 オンライン・シンポジウム
「自然の恵みと地域づくり　―今、生物多様性地域戦略に求められるもの―」

生物多様性地域戦略とは、都道府県や市町村が、生物多様性の保全や持続可能な地域づくりを進めていくために定める計画のことです。豊かな自然とその恵みを次世代に引き継いでいくためには、どのような視点や取組が必要でしょうか？　それをみなで考えるためのシンポジウムです。多くの方のご参加をお待ちしています。

海外留学支援オンラインワークショップを開催しました

6月29日　⾃然保護寄附講座海外留学⽀援オンラインワークショップ「自然保護分野での海外留学や国際連携に興味ある？～ワークショップで情報収集しよう～」を開催しました。

自然保護寄附講座留学支援担当の庄⼦晶⼦准教授と飯⽥義彦准教授から、海外留学と国連機関での国際連携の取り組みについて話題提供いただき、海外留学の準備から、その経験を活かした仕事についてまで、16名の参加者と意見交換を行いました。学群生から大学院生まで幅広い学年の方にご参加いただました。

■実施概要　Outline of contents (tentative)

目的：自然保護分野での国際協力に関わるミッドキャリア実務者から国際キャリアの魅力や課題、日本や海外での実践活動事例を紹介いただき、将来的に自然保護分野で活躍するための国際キャリアの形成について考えます。
※当日はポスト公募の具体的な方法や必要な経験等についてもご紹介いただく予定です。
Purpose: Participants will be expected to think of their own future career through the experiences of invited guest speakers who have worked on international cooperation in the field of nature conservation.
