The UNESCO Chair on Nature-Culture Linkages at the University of Tsukuba organizes capacity building workshops yearly since 2016 for the Asia- Pacific region.
The first and second workshops entitled "Agricultural Landscapes" and "Sacred Landscapes" respectively have shown the need to work further on raising awareness on the importance of linking nature and culture in heritage sites.
The UNESCO Chair will hold a roundtable with focus on capacity building and where to capture ideas and opinions from State Parties' delegates, especially mid-career and young professionals, in and beyond the Asia- Pacific region.
The purpose is to discuss on the role of capacity building and institutions of learning, what are the gaps and needs locally, in order to contribute further in the creation of platforms for the exchange between cultural and natural heritage practitioners.
